It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that we honor the life and legacy of LTC (R) Loran Glynn Bryant, U.S. Army, who passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, at the age of 81. His passing marks the loss of a decorated military officer, devoted family patriarch, and dedicated advocate for veterans.
A proud native of Eastman, Georgia, Colonel Bryant devoted more than two decades of his life to serving his country with courage, honor, and distinction. During his military career, he completed two combat tours in Vietnam, flew numerous helicopter missions in support of Special Forces and Marine units, and became one of the Army’s most respected aviation leaders. His extraordinary service earned him numerous honors, including two Distinguished Flying Crosses, the Bronze Star, and thirty-one Air Medals.
Beyond his military accomplishments, Colonel Bryant was a man deeply devoted to his family. He shared 56 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Miriam, and took immense pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love, guidance, and unwavering support created a lasting foundation for generations of his family.
Following his retirement from the Army, Colonel Bryant continued serving others through the Georgia Department of Veterans Service, where he spent 13 years helping fellow veterans access the benefits and recognition they deserved. His dedication to those who served reflected his lifelong commitment to duty and compassion.
An avid outdoorsman, fisherman, hunter, and mentor, he found joy in sharing his passions with family and friends. Whether on the water, in the woods, or spending time with loved ones, he created memories that will be cherished forever.
